Irish Apothecary's Own Brand
100% Pure Essential Oil

Wintergreen Oil is a member of the Ericaceae family. This oil has a strong mint candy flavour and is classed as a top-middle note. Wintergreen blends well with camphoraceous, citrus and woodsy oils.

Wintergreen is normally used as a freshening agent in cleaning products. With its warming sensation, it is also a popular ingredient in creams to relieve muscle soreness and also increase blood circulation in joints.

Common Uses: Antiseptic, a diuretic, stimulant, emenagogue and anti- rheumatic. It is very useful in many rheumatic conditions, for gout and stiffness due to old age. It also revitalizes and gives energy following muscular pains, particularly good for athletes for instance.

History: Wintergreen and Sweet Birch oil are both nearly identical in chemical composition and aroma; similarly, both have been used in traditional folk remedies. This tradition has led to the discovery of Methyl Salicylate, its main ingredient, as a pain reliever. Wintergreen is a traditional native North American remedy, used for aches and pains and to help breathing while hunting or carrying heavy loads.

Wintergreen Pure Essential Oil is used as an aid in the following: Arthritic Pain, Bone Pain, Bone Spurs, Cartilage Injury, Dandruff, Frozen Shoulder, Joint Pain, Muscle Development, Muscle Tone, Pain and Rotator Cuff (Sore).
