Lemon Oil is a member of the Rutaceae family. This oil is sharp and fresh and is classed as a top note. Lemon blends well with camphoraceous, citrus, herby, floral, minty, spicy and woodsy oils.

Lemon is mainly known for its purification, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, making it excellent for cleaning purposes. It is also known to help relieve nausea, improve digestion and nourish the skin.

Lemon has been historically recognised as a cleanser. It is recognised as being antiseptic and as having refreshing and cooling properties. Lemon is highly prized for its high anti-bacterial properties. On skin and hair, it can be used for its cleansing effect as well as for treating cuts and boils.

History: The fruit was well known in Europe by the middle ages. Greeks and Romans were advocates of its therapeutic properties. As we apply our blend in through the largest pores, it is said that it enters the bloodstream in as little as a few minutes.

Infused blends are very effective with this application as we are optimising the ability to harmonise a symptom. Science states three times a day is sufficient, any more is placebo – which as we know has its own magnificent effects also!
