Nutmeg oil is a member of the Myristicaceae family. This spicy oil has a rich, spicy and sweet scent. It is classed as a middle note and blends well with citrus, floral, spicy and woodsy oils.

Nutmeg can be used in pain relief formulations to relieve headaches, migraines or muscle pain. It may be effective for digestive issues like colic, indigestion or flatulence. Its aroma is known to have a calming effect and can help reduce stress.

Common Uses: Arthritis, constipation, fatigue, muscle aches, nausea, neuralgia, poor circulation, rheumatism and slow digestion.

History: Nutmeg was used by the Indians for intestinal disorders, by the Egyptians in embalming and by the Italians during the Plague. In the Middle Ages, Nutmeg was grated and mixed with lard as an ointment for piles. Nutmeg oil is used in soap, candle making, dental products and hair lotions.

About this oil

Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing. Before using any topical product for the first time, it is advisable to do a patch test. It is not recommended to use pure oils on the skin without diluting. Never use internally. Keep away from children and eyes. Always check if there are any medical issues which could cause a problem. Seek help if you have any doubts.

Directions for use

Dilute with carrier oil for sensitive skin and for children over six years of age. Apply to temples, tip of nose, reflex points, soles of feet, back of neck and / or area of concern. Diffuse or inhale the aroma directly.
